MiDAS Accessible Course

Road Safety - Everyone's Business

MiDAS is the Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme, organised by the Community Transport Association U.K. (CTA) which promotes a nationally recognised standard for the assessment and training of minibus drivers.

It is a membership based scheme that is designed to enhance minibus driving standards and promote the safer operation of minibuses, currently there are over 5,000 member organisations throughout the UK.

MiDAS Minibus Accessible Driver Training

Accessible driver assessment/training is aimed at those organisations and drivers that transport passengers with disabilities.

  • MiDAS Accessible Driver Training is designed and certified by the CTA and is a quality standard for organisations and drivers who transport passengers with disabilities.

  • Is relevant to volunteers as well as paid employed staff

  • Covers legal, practical and safety issues - a comprehensive training package

  • Aims to improve passenger safety by providing the necessary skills for those who have responsibility of driving passengers with disabilities, and provides information to allow drivers to understand and meet the needs of their passengers

  • The course is aimed at those organisations and drivers that deal with accessible minibuses and have responsibility for carrying passnegers with disabilities.
